It was a great season despite the ending.

Lots of mistakes tonight, lots of fumbles we couldn't recover. Lots of drops, pass protection deteriorated. We can pick this game apart, or we can pick the season apart, the defensive struggles, the lack of a 3rd receiver, Haynesworth, Ocho..

End of the day, getting to the Super Bowl is a successful season it just doesn't feel like it. 30 teams did less.

Oh man oh man,

Well I felt optimistic going into the game. And justifiably so. We did enough with our O-Line to protect Brady. Our D did enough. All we needed to do was hold onto one of the 3 fumbles we created or catch one of those final, catchable balls. Welker, Hernandez, Branch - those 3 plays in the final quarter all needed a catch. Just one of them could've sealed the deal. But it's a game of moments, of inches. And in the space of an inch or two comes a superbowl. Giants got it tonight. And they got it 4 years back. Heck, luck rolls twice in one way in life sometimes. Sure, it really, really sucks. But remember we've many years to pray and wish and realise another SB victory. TB and BB don't have that luxury. They have 5 years or so to get another title. Is this the closest they'll get? Heck, I don't know. But tonight was as good a shot as any and may be their last. We just gotta hope and pray that ain't the case. It sucks, it all sucks bad - but you know what, it doesn't suck anything as bad as 4 years ago. And you also know what? Probably no loss ever will. Small comfort perhaps - but for me always good to know from ever on (unless they go undeafeated again) that it'll never be the pain it was when Tyree et al beat us.

So I ask ya - were we the best team in 2011? No, we weren't. Did we deserve to win? Well, we deserved to win as much as the Giants. But Packers and 49ers were best teams. But that's the way it goes. In 2007 Pats were the best team and we also lost the SB. We deserved tonight or 2007. Tonight we beat ourselves with lack of execution and some silly drops. In 2007 the Giants beat us. Does that make us feel better? Maybe? No? Yes? Does it matter? We, Robert, Jonathan, Bill, Tom, the players, PFW crew and all at Pats Nation didn't care what was fair, or deserved, or rightfully ours. We just wanted that W. We wanted Lombardi. We wanted #4 in OUR Hall at Patriots Place. But that'll have to wait for another year.

With Bill and Tom we're always going to be 50% there. That team needs rebuilding. Such strong TEs - let's not that waste. With strong WRs an a top RB we can be unstoppable. Let's not just settle for "ah it's been good all year, we'll be grand". We need top WRs. Again, it wasn't our D that let us down. Gronk's injury was a killer. We tried to brush over it but in the end it was our fatal flaw, our achielles. Paul always plays down the need for our team to have a killer RB or deep WR. But I ask you - what teams of recent years that've won SBs haven't had that? Saints, Packers, Giants all have top WR talent. We do not. I know our offense has great stats each year. But, for the love of God, we need help, we need a Moss or an explosive Chad, or something. Teams don't win SBs these days without strong WR play.

Right, that's me. No More Sad/Sam Adams, time for sleep perchance to dream. Been wonderful been part of PFW this year. Onwards and upwards, we can only hope. Two SB losses is too much to stomach - no matter how lovely Madonna is.

Devastated by it.

I really thought we had it. Especially when Myra pushed Bradshaw into the endzone.

There’s a man who brings dread upon sight.
He’s a bad luck charm, jinx and a blight!
Cost us a trophy for sure
And a chance at two more
Bernard Pollard, the Pats kryptonite!

Of how to break this curse many proffer
So this modest proposal I’ll offer
It may the best bet,
for Bernie to get
the travel agent used by Jimmy Hoffa.

just kidding, heh, heh, but maybe the pats could sign him and open up farm team in China..
